For HVAC & plumbing companies

We Text Back the Calls You Can't Take

HomeCrew AI texts back every missed call in seconds, books a real time on your calendar, and you run it by text. No app for your customers to download. No dashboard for you to learn.

Setup happens fast. Texting starts once carrier registration clears — usually days to a couple weeks. More on that below.

The problem

Every unanswered call is a customer calling the next name on the list

You're on a roof, under a sink, or already on the phone with someone else. The call goes to voicemail — and most people don't leave one. They just call the next company.

Without a text-back

  • Call goes to voicemail while you're mid-job
  • Customer doesn't leave a message
  • They call the next HVAC or plumbing company on the list
  • You find out later, if at all

With HomeCrew AI

  • Missed call gets a text back in seconds
  • The AI asks what's going on and where
  • It offers real open times off your calendar
  • You get a text when the job is booked — no calls to return
How it works

Set up once. Run it from your own phone.

1

You keep your number

We set your line to forward missed or busy calls to HomeCrew, or make the HomeCrew number your main line that rings your team first. Your number to customers doesn't change.

2

Missed call gets a text

Anyone who doesn't get through gets a text back in seconds, identifying your business and asking what they need.

3

The AI books a real slot

It can only offer times your calendar actually shows open, and it checks the slot again right before booking — so it can't double-book you or invent a time that doesn't exist.

4

You get the job, not the busywork

You're notified once it's booked. Emergencies still ring your on-call list directly. Nothing routes through a dashboard you have to check.

No dashboard

You run it the way you already run your day: by text

There's no app to open and no portal to log into. You manage jobs with plain text commands to the same number your customers text.

# Take a job yourself TAKE 14 # Hand it to a tech BOT 14 # Move a booked time MOVE 14 fri 10am # Mark it finished (sends the review request) DONE 14

Also by text

  • STATUS — what's open, what's booked today
  • PAUSE / RESUME — turn text-back off and on
  • REPORT — this week's numbers
  • MONTHLY — month-to-date summary

Every command is checked against the phone number sending it, and every action is logged.

What a customer sees

A real conversation, start to finish

This is what the exchange above looks like end to end, including the parts that don't make it into a highlight reel — the customer changing their mind, and someone who'd rather just talk to you.

Actually can we do afternoon instead of morning?Wed 6:02 PM
No problem — Thursday 2–4 is open, or Friday 1–3. Which works better?Wed 6:02 PM
friday 1 is good. also is this a real person or a botWed 6:03 PM
I'm an automated assistant for Maple Ridge — I book the appointment and the tech who shows up is a real person. Want me to have someone call you instead?Wed 6:03 PM
no that's fine, friday 1 worksWed 6:04 PM

Safety

Gas, CO, and fire never reach the AI

A fixed set of rules checks every message before the AI ever sees it. If someone mentions a gas smell, a CO alarm, fire, or sparking, they get an immediate safety response — not a conversation, not a judgment call, and never an AI deciding whether a situation is safe.

Customer's phoneLive
i smell gas near my furnace9:14 PM
Fixed safety response — sent before the AI sees the message If you smell gas: leave the house now and call 911 or your gas company from outside. Do not use switches, phones, or lighters inside. We're alerting the on-call tech now.9:14 PM

Sample conversation for illustration. The owner gets an alert and the on-call tech is called at the same time.

HVAC false alarm: a furnace igniter that sparks briefly when it lights is normal — the rules are written to tell that apart from an actual gas or fire hazard.
Plumbing false alarm: hot water that smells like rotten eggs is almost always the water heater's anode rod, not a gas leak — a different, non-emergency reply.

After hours, a real emergency (no heat in heating season, no cooling in summer, a burst pipe, flooding, sewage backup) rings your on-call list directly — first person to answer gets it. If nobody answers, you get a NO ANSWER alert. Anyone who'd rather talk to a person can ask for one, and that's always honored.

Pricing

Two plans. One real difference between them.

Both plans text back every missed call, book real jobs, handle safety messages the same way, and hand you a report every week. Pro adds one thing: the AI answers the phone live, not just by text.

Book a Call

Texting can't start the day you sign up — carrier registration for your business number takes days to a couple of weeks to clear. Setup and your demo happen right away; we'll walk through exact timing and setup fees on the call.

Does it pay for itself?

That depends on your numbers, not ours

If one recovered job is worth more to you than a month of HomeCrew, it can pay for itself by catching calls you were already missing. Whether it actually does depends on how many calls you're losing today and what an average job is worth to you — numbers we don't have until we talk. Bring your own on the call and we'll work through it together.

Worth knowing before you call

What this is, and isn't

  • It's brand new. HomeCrew AI has been built and tested internally, but hasn't run on a live customer account yet. You'd be among the first.
  • It doesn't connect to your other software. No ServiceTitan, Housecall Pro, Jobber, or QuickBooks integration today. It runs alongside whatever you already use.
  • There's no dashboard to check. That's by design — but if you wanted a screen to look at, there isn't one.
  • Texting doesn't start on day one. Your business number has to clear carrier registration first — days to a couple weeks.
  • The transcripts on this page are samples, written to show how a conversation actually goes — not a live demo.
  • Safety replies are fixed rules, not the AI. The AI is also never allowed to tell anyone a situation is safe.
FAQ

Questions owners actually ask

It texts in plain language and, if asked directly, always says it's automated. It won't pretend to be a person. Most customers care more about getting a fast answer and a real appointment time than about who's typing.
It can only offer windows your calendar shows open, and it re-checks that slot right before confirming the booking — so it can't invent a time or double-book you.
Gas, CO, and fire messages get a fixed safety reply before the AI ever sees the text, plus an alert to you and a call to your on-call tech. Other real emergencies (no heat in winter, no cooling in summer, burst pipes, flooding, sewage) ring your on-call list directly, in order, until someone answers.
No. You run everything by text to the same number — commands like TAKE 14 or MOVE 14 fri 10am — from whatever phone you already carry.
No. Follow-ups are capped at a few per conversation, none go out between 8pm and 8am, and anyone who texts STOP is unsubscribed permanently, across everything, until they text START again.
Always honored. It hands off immediately — no arguing, no trying to keep the conversation going.
Not yet — there's no integration with ServiceTitan, Housecall Pro, Jobber, or QuickBooks today. It runs on its own, alongside whatever you currently use.
Setup and your demo happen right away on the call. Texting itself can't start until your business number clears carrier registration, which typically takes days to a couple of weeks.
